Nursery (Birth - 4th Birthday*)

It is the vision of our nursery ministry that specific age-level classes be avaliable so children can learn and be cared for at their rapidly-changing developmental stages. We are intentional about giving infants and toddlers the opportunity to experience God's love in a variety of ways. The schedules anda ctivities of each room are designed to best meet each child's spiritual, emotional, and physical needs while keeping safety a priority.

  • From birth - 12 months we desire that all children experience:
    • love through caregivers
    • a loving and safe environment, and
    • the love of the church body.
  • From 1-2 years we desire that all children know
    • God made them and loves them,
    • Jesus is God's Son,
    • God made the world and everything in it, and
    • they are an important part of the church.
  • From 2-3 years we desire that all children know
    • 12 key Bible stories,
    • God is great and good,
    • everyone can worship God,
    • Jesus loves them, and
    • they are an important part of the church.

We teach a Bible story each month using music, activities and finger plays in our older nursery classrooms every Sunday. We believe children are never too young to hear and learn God’s Word.
Note regarding child/adult ratio: While each of our four classrooms are being lovingly staffed and children are nurtured, occasionally the number of children in this area exceed the DCFS-allowable child/adult ratio. For the safety of the children, when this ratio is exceeded we ask parents to keep their children with them while they attend Sunday school and/or the worship service.

Parent Handbook

A Parent Handbook is available which shares, in detail, our commitment to the physical and spiritual care of the youngest persons in our congregation. Pick one up at the Nursery check-in area or download it here.

* We promote children three times per year. They are promoted as a group to the early childhood department after their fourth birthday on the 3rd Sundays in April, August, and December.
